Testing Services for Families
Providing Diagnostic Psychoeducational Evaluations
At PsychEd School Services, we provide comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations that help you understand how your child learns and why they may be struggling. We assess learning disorders (including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia), intellectual disability, autism, and ADHD, along with attention, executive functioning, and social-emotional/behavioral concerns. Each evaluation identifies your child's strengths as well as their needs, so you leave with a clear picture and a practical path forward.
What makes PsychEd School Services different?
PsychEd bridges the gap between families and schools. We combine clinical and school-based experience with a background in school neuropsychology and a working knowledge of the IEP and special education process. Parent and teacher input matters to us, and we build that perspective into every evaluation. At your request, we will meet with teachers or your child's IEP team so everyone has what they need to support your child. Our goal is to give you clear, practical recommendations your child can actually benefit from at school and at home.
Testing Q&A

Testing is usually recommended when a child faces challenges in areas such as learning, attention, social skills, and/or behavioral/emotional regulation. A psychological evaluation can serve several important purposes, including:
Identifying learning delays or difficulties, cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses, and/or social, emotional, behavioral challenges that may be impacting your child’s ability to thrive.
Determining eligibility for special education services and related supports.
Identifying the most effective strategies and interventions to support your child’s learning and development.
Establishing a baseline to track and measure your child’s progress over time.

Intake:
Once all initial paperwork is complete, PsychEd will schedule a detailed clinical interview to better understand your concerns. This conversation helps us focus on your concerns and choose the right assessments for your child.Testing:
After the intake, PsychEd will conduct in-person testing sessions with your child. Comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations typically span 4-6 hours of testing, divided across two to three visits. The evaluation typically includes:Cognitive Assessment
Educational Assessment
Processing Assessment (which may include areas such as phonological skills, language, memory, attention, and/or executive functioning)
Social and Behavioral/Emotional Assessment
Feedback:
Once testing is complete, PsychEd will schedule a feedback session, which can take place in person or via Zoom for your convenience. During this meeting, we will review the findings, explain their implications, and answer any questions you have. You’ll also receive tailored recommendations, referrals, and strategies to support your child’s success. Following this session, you will be provided with a comprehensive written report summarizing the results. -
Testing fees vary greatly depending upon the type of the evaluation services requested. Please contact us directly using our Contact Form to discuss the fees for the services you need.
-
No. Our services are provided on a fee-for-service basis, allowing us the opportunity to use clinical judgment and client preferences to make decisions regarding what assessment and/or treatment will be most helpful to your child rather than have this dictated by the insurance company. Families pay PsychEd School Services directly for all services.
-
The parent(s)/legal guardian(s) receives the report. Results are only shared with someone other than parent(s)/legal guardian(s) with express written permission. In most cases, sharing the report with school personnel is helpful, but this is only done with written permission.
-
Yes. At a parent’s request, PsychEd School Services can participate in school meetings (including IEP team meetings) in order to review results and recommendations.
